Every month, we host a networking happy hour in Chicago for our professional group: Women in Business Connect. It is a way to kick back and relax while socializing with like-minded professional women. This month, we were invited to join forces with liftUPlift at their Summer Social. It was an evening of laughter, socializing, shopping, and connecting.
liftUPlift is a marketplace for women-owned products. They recently opened a showroom in the thriving Wicker Park neighborhood to showcase products from the owners who are within their marketplace. Everything in the showroom is for sale. There are items such as: clothing, skincare, nail polish, makeup, chocolate, and more! The best part are the stories from some of these makers. For instance, Kathmandu Yogi is a woman-owned business that makes handcrafted yoga goods which helps give jobs to the women in Nepal. Supporting and buying women-owned empowers women and drives social change.
It was great to be a part of such a community making a huge impact. Our monthly networking happy hours are for Women in Business Connect (WIBC) members and prospective members.
